It has been a busy day! I am totally exhausted and I still have a number of hours to go!

Im not sure what took me so long to think of it, but I headed to the library today to check out their embroidery book collection. Four books later I decided whilst I was there that I would check out their collection of Tatting books.

Whilst I was at a quilt show last weekend I found some lovely ladies who were working away steadily at something that looked both scary and totally interesting! It turns out that there is a lovely lady's couple of suburbs over who teaches all sorts of tatting!

In true me fashion I have already started playing about with it. Here are my attempts so far:

Another task on my to do list was to finally send off a package that I have been meaning to send off for a little while! Whilst I was at the post office - actually I sent Jacob in to the post office and I hit the crafty store because I was trying to see if I could get my hands on a set of tatting shuttles ASAP! (I failed though that's another story.)

We had a bit of time to kill before we had to go to school to collect the rug rats and what do I find? A lifeline store!

Inside I found the following:

What you see here is:

One double bed quilt cover
Two single bed quilt covers and
One pillow case.

What do I plan to do with them you might ask?

I plan to make a quilt! Everything I need fabric wise should be in that pile!

I'll keep you posted!

  1. Clever girl. What sort of tatting needle do you want? I maybe able to help.

    1. Him I have been using one of Jacobs dolls needles at the moment which is unfortunately very sharp! I need to replace it with a set of tatting needles and the lady who does the lessons requests that as use clover shuttles .. I've found a set at spotlight but its a few suburbs over so I have to go get that today and just use the dolls needle for the needle tatting part ... I don't stab myself as much as when I first started now! Lol
