I'm not really sure of the specifics on how this is going to work yet.
I have been saying for a while now that I wanted to make things at home that hopefully people will buy. I'm fairly certain I'd ever get to the stage of it being a big enough business to live off, but one can only make so many things for ones family before one runs out of storage!
So with this in mind I have been steadily trying to think up things that I can make with my machine (Ie, nothing that needs adjustable stitch lengths/widths etc because my machine can't do this, so no machine paper piecing unfortunately :( ) the trick is it has to be things that people might actually WANT.
So far, with some help, I've come up with Q-Snap Covers for any Cross Stitchers out there. So far I have 1 that is for a 6x6 inch frame, and 4 8x8 inch frames.
I don't know if I should make more, including other sizes, or do I leave it at that until I know if they will even sell? I'm also trying to decide if I want to offer fabric options, and if so by colour range, or specific fabrics? Or do I simply make and sell, remaking anything that gets sold? Choices! Choices!
I've also managed to put together some insulated cup sleeves. Perfect for anyone that likes their drinks hot but then cannot carry the cup! I just so happened to have some leftover fabric that was coffee themed! These are held onto the cup via a piece of elastic and a button.
As you can see by the size of my cup, these sleeves will fit your standard takeaway cups as well. I am contemplating whether or not to try some with some pretty hand embroidery. But I guess it depends on if cup sleeves are popular? I know I sure hate holding takeaway coffee cause it burns!
I'm not 100% sure what my next project will be. I want to try so many things! I'm still desperately searching the internet for the "right" apron pattern, and shorts/dresses that are for kids who aren't 8 years or under so that I can make clothing for my kids. But having said that, I also want to try padded seatbelt covers, table runners, baby quilts, decorative notebook covers, just to name a few!
